St. JOHN‘S PLACED ON The National Register of Historical Places
On December 15, 2024, Roberta Sciulli, President of the Ambridge Historic District Economic Development Corporation, presented St. John's Lutheran Church with a bronze memorial plaque. The plaque states: "This Property Has Been Placed On The National Register of Historical Places" by the United States Department Of The Interior.
The National Register of Historic Places is the official list of the Nation's historic places worthy of preservation.
The presentation followed immediately after the Sunday Worship Service. The plaque honored the Harmony Society Church built in 1828 (196 years ago) and since 1912 has been home to a Lutheran Congregation.
In addition, the Russin family (a nearby resident homeowner) was presented with a similar bronze memorial plaque.
